La plaine partout alentour. La chaleur immobile d\u2019un apr\u00e8s-midi d\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"fr-FR\" align=\"justify\">Pour surveiller la plaine, j\u2019escaladai le mur jusqu\u2019au premier \u00e9tage, o\u00f9 je pus me tenir debout dans ce qui \u00e9tait autrefois l\u2019encadrement d\u2019une fen\u00eatre. De cette hauteur, j\u2019apercevais les hautes herbes \u00e0 perte de vue.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"fr-CA\" align=\"justify\">Un rugissement s\u2019\u00e9leva alors, paralysant l\u2019instant. A quelques dizaines de m\u00e8tres de moi je vis un lion, puissant et d\u00e9sinvolte. \u00c9tonnamment, je ne ressentais aucune peur, et je restai l\u00e0 un temps suspendu, \u00e0 observer et contempler le superbe animal.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"fr-CA\" align=\"justify\">En pr\u00e9parant, bien plus tard, <a href=\"https:\/\/gwendreams.com\/index.php\/les-voyages\/leurasienne\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">un voyage le long des c\u00f4tes de Turquie<\/a>, je tombai en arr\u00eat devant une photographie de la fa\u00e7ade de la biblioth\u00e8que de Celsius \u00e0 <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Site_arch%C3%A9ologique_d%27%C3%89ph%C3%A8se\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eph\u00e8se<\/a>. C\u2019\u00e9tait \u00e7a, c\u2019\u00e9tait l\u00e0. Dans le r\u00eave je me tenais exactement \u00e0 cette fen\u00eatre.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"fr-CA\" align=\"justify\">Quelques ann\u00e9es plus tard encore, je vis enfin de mes yeux le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre monument, ce qu\u2019il en reste, du moins. Pourtant, le paysage avait chang\u00e9, ce n\u2019\u00e9tait pas exactement la bonne topographie.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"fr-FR\" align=\"justify\">Non loin de l\u00e0, dans des maisons en terrasses miraculeusement pr\u00e9serv\u00e9es des catastrophes naturelles et de la fureur des hommes, je d\u00e9couvris une mosa\u00efque d\u2019une grande beaut\u00e9. c\u2019\u00e9tait \u201cmon\u201d lion.
